NELA recognizes that generations have contributed to climate change and environmental degradation. Our mission is to inspire and train a new generation of leaders - our youth, who will inherit our planet with a passion for the environment. NELA develops programs to prepare youth to become environmental stewards and lead communities in the effort to create a more sustainable future. NELA seeks to advance education, environmentalism and real-world experiences in traditional sciences and engineering as well as in social sciences and the arts. NELA understands that there is a lot of work to be done and exists to pass the baton, with current leaders teaching future leaders.
